Screen
enlargement programs. These
are full featured commercial programs that can be used to magnify the text
and graphics on the screen with view options for window, split screen, lens,
etc.
Screen readers. Screen readers are programs which read aloud
everything on the screen. They can provide auditory prompts,
navigate menus, command control, confirmation of keystrokes.
Cursor enlargement. Utilities that provide more cursor appearance and
behavior options than those built into the operating systems.
Talking and large print word processors. A talking word processor is a software program that
uses a speech synthesizer to read aloud what has been typed. They can be used
to speak text by letter, word, sentence, selected text, or give auditory
confirmation of a keystroke without requiring the user to look at the screen.
Braille translation software. Translates text into Braille.
Braille embossers. Prints Braille.
