Due to changes in the implementation of the Nutrikids Program, you will be unable to register your children in the www.mynutrikids.com website until the week of May 10, 2010.Thank you for your patience during this transition period.

(Please note that if school is on a two hour delay, breakfast will not be served.)

MEAL COSTS
Breakfast $1.00 Reduced Price Breakfast $ .25 Elementary Lunch $1.70 Reduced Price Elementary Lunch $ .25 MS/HS Lunch $1.80 Reduced Price MS/HS Lunch $ .25 Milk $ .40 Parents are encouraged to pre-pay for their children’s meals. If paying by check or cash, please use the pre-payment form. For every $20 pre-paid, students will receive one free lunch.
FREE AND REDUCED MEAL APPLICATION
Children from households that meet federal income guidelines are eligible for free meals or reduced price meals. Reduced price meals cost each eligible student $ .25 for lunch and $ .25 for breakfast. To apply for free or reduced price meals, you may submit a Direct Certification letter from the NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance OR complete the free and reduced meal application, sign it and return it to Tammy Whitman, Assistant Treasurer, BCSD, P.O. Box 259, Berlin, NY 12022 as soon as possible. Click here for more information.
- Applications can be submitted at any time during the school year.
- All applications and student qualification are confidential.
- If approved, each student in the household can receive a breakfast and lunch each school day in their qualified category.
- If you are not sure you qualify, you can still apply.
NEW POINT OF SALE SYSTEM
The District recently evaluated many different computerized Point of Sale (POS) Systems to increase the level of service and provide accurate school meal accounts. After reviewing several systems a decision has been made to purchase NUTRIKIDS POS System. We are currently preparing to implement this new system at the Middle/High School on Tuesday, May 18th and at Berlin Elementary School on Wednesday, May 19th.
Students will be given an ID number (which will stay with the student year after year) which they will enter on a PIN pad. We ask that parents help their child remember their number and stress how important it is not to share their number.
While checks and cash are still accepted, parents are encouraged to begin using www.Mynutrikids.com. Not only will parents be able to deposit money directly into their child’s account, but you will be able to see the dates that your child purchased breakfast or lunch and keep track of their balances. You will need your child’s ID number, name and zip code to enter the account. Please note that if a student wishes to purchase any item other than a full breakfast or lunch, they will need to pay with cash. These items can not be taken from their account balance.
The District would like to thank you for your support and patience during the introduction of the new system into the food service program.

FOOD SERVICE PROVIDER
Prestige Services, Inc. is the food service provider for the Berlin Central School District. They are a locally owned company located in Clifton Park, NY. Prestige Services operates programs throughout New York State which not only include schools, but include businesses and elder nutrition programs.
