Career Quest

Introduction

You are about to embark on a project that will help you learn more about yourself and the careers that will fit you best.

Task

Take Online Inventories through DISCOVER and learn which careers will fit you best.  Then learn a little bit about these careers.  Share this information with fellow Berlin Students.

Process

1. Go to DISCOVER and complete the Interests, Abilities, and Values inventories.

2.  Ask Ms. Mosher (or Miss. Joy) to help you interpret your results.

3. Once you understand your results choose a career which you would like to explore further.

4. Using the following worksheet, write down five questions that you would like to answer about the career you have chosen to research.

 5. Along with these five questions you will also be expected to answer the following questions about your career:

·         Why did you choose this career to explore further?

·         What aspects of the career would you enjoy?

·         What aspects of the career would you not enjoy?

·         Why do you feel you would be good at this career?

·         If the power went off for the day how would this effect how you would do your job?

6.  Use the career books, internet sites below, and your brain to answer your questions.

***Make sure that you write down where you found your information. Use the Bibliography Forms provided for you to record the source information.  You must have at least one book in your list of resources.***

 Final Product:

Using Microsoft Publisher create a brochure that will be placed in the Guidance Office for others to read.  This brochure will be read by many other people so make sure that it looks attractive and that there are no spelling or grammatical mistakes.  Before you print your brochure in color, print a black and white version first so that you can have it checked by your teacher and to make sure that it will fold correctly.
