Dear
Parent/Guardian:
The
With this
educational opportunity also comes much responsibility. It is important that you and your children
read, discuss and understand the districts Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), which
outlines the districts regulations and requirements for using the internet and
computer network. In the school
setting, students working with our computer/network resources will be
supervised in accordance with the district policies and regulations
enclosed. Inappropriate use of the
Internet and computer network resources will result in the loss of this
privilege or other consequences for the student.
Though the
benefits of our network/computer resources are enormous, parents need to be
especially aware that the Internet is an OPEN system and therefore contains
materials and information that some may find inappropriate. Through technological safeguards and personal
supervision, district staff will make every effort to prevent your child’s
access of inappropriate materials on the Internet.
Please read
and discuss with your child the Acceptable Use Policy and Regulations. Return the enclosed form to your child’s
building principal indicating your permission or denial of permission for your
child to use the Internet and district computer/network resources.
Your signed
permission or denial of permission will be on file in the District StarWeb Data
Management System. A new AUP form will be issued when your child changes
to a different school within the district. If you wish to change your original AUP form, please do so in
writing and send your request via certified mail to the building
principal at your child’s school to ensure your request is expedited and
properly filed.
