District Profile:
The Berlin Central School District is a rural area in the Taconic Valley located in the foothills of the Berkshires. Five towns make up our district: Berlin, Grafton, Petersburgh, Poestenkill and Stephentown. Our school district population is approximately 6,800.We are equidistant from Troy, NY, Pittsfield, MA, Bennington, VT. Residents either commute to these areas or work locally.The area's major industries are wood and wood products, custom metal fabrication and machining, and manufacturing of high technology electronic components for microwave communication industries.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Berlin Central School District is to maximize the diverse talents and aspirations of the students; develop student ability to live as responsible and contributing members of society; provide challenging curricula, in quality facilities, by well-trained staff interested in the welfare of the students; coordinate efforts among members of the school, family and community to foster high expectations and to provide the best opportunity for a successful educational program.
