ART CLUB is Wednesday, Feb. 8th afterschool! Please sign up outside the art room doors AND for the late bus! Hope to see you there! (Through Wed. 2/8)

 

Peer Networking Group will meet next Wednesday at 2:05 in Mr. Gould’s room.

 

The High School Drama Club will be producing "Much Whoop About Zip", a take off on Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing".  The first rehearsal for BIG WHOOP will be Monday.  All those auditioning should plan to be at that rehearsal. 

 

The FCCLA Talent Show is one month away.  If you are interested in performing, please sign up on Mrs. Mosher's door.  First time performers will be scheduled for an audition.  This year's theme is TALENT IN TIMES SQUARE.  Plan to attend the 2012 show March 3, enjoy the local talent and take your chance at playing the cash cab!

 

Middle School Student Council will host a Valentine’s Dance and Games on Wednesday, February 8th from 2:15-4:15.  Tickets are $3 and go on sale Monday.  Join us for snacks, games, great music and lots of exciting things to do with your friends!

 

Today is a marathon rehearsal for the cast of "Alice".  Please report to the Music Room after your 10:20 dismissal.  This is a mandatory rehearsal for the entire cast.  Crew members who would like to work on props are also welcome to stay.  Everyone will be taking the 2:05 bus home.

 

The annual Clothing Drive will take place in the Cafeteria here at the Middle/High School today, February 3 from 2:00 to 4:00.  Please invite your families to come and take home any items they need.  Anyone wishing to donate gently worn and washed clothing is welcome BUT you do not have to donate ANYTHING in order to come and get clothing.  See Mrs. PH or Mrs. Mosher if you have any questions.

 

Attention All High School Student’s: This February, Yearbook is publishing a Valentines Day Newsletter that will be written by, and meant for all of you to enjoy! For only one dollar you can write a message to anyone you would like and have it published! You can sign your name or, keep it anonymous! Send messages to friends, teachers, significant others, and or family. The newsletter will be distributed on Valentine’s Day in homeroom.  Here’s a great opportunity to brighten someone’s day or just thank them for being them at very little cost! Space will be for sale during the lunch periods from February 1st – February 9th!  (through February 9th)

Hudson Valley Community College is offering a SAT Prep Class. This course is designed to prepare students for the SAT. The course will teach strategies for problem solving, vocabulary development, reading comprehension, sentence completion, grammar and essay writing skills. Classes begin on February 15 at 6:00 pm. There will be a 5 hour pre-licensing course held today, Feb. 3rd from 5:00 – 10:00 p.m.  You must have a learners permit and the cost is $35.00.  See Mrs. Adams in the Main Office to sign up.

 

HS semi-formal is tomorrow night from 7-11 p.m. Tickets are on sale in the cafeteria during lunches or you can buy your tickets at the door.

 

Seniors-Volunteers are needed tonight to help set up for semi-formal after the boys' games. Please let Ms. Day know if you will be able to help out.

 

Happy Birthday to Griffin Boyd, Adriana Rizzo and Jackson Burhans, today.  Ashleigh Stevens, Caitlyn Hungerford and Clara Riccardi will celebrate their birthdays tomorrow.

 

Sports:

Are you interested in participating in a spring sport?  Spring sports include: Baseball, Softball, and Track & Field.  You must be in at least 7th grade to participate.  If so, you must complete a Health History Form.  These forms will be available in the locker rooms, the Health Office and the Cafeteria.  You must return a completed Health History form to get signed up for a physical exam.  This form must be completed and returned to the Health Office no later than today, February 3, 2012.  Physical exams for participation in winter sports will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012.   If you have any questions, please stop by the Health Office.
