Our school district will provide transportation via central pick up points throughout the district. The courses being offered are as follows:

Earth Science       Chemistry      Regents Review Classes in: English 11, Math A, Math B, U.S. History, Global             History, Earth Science, Chemistry, Living Environment

The requirements and expectations of Summer School are as follows:

  • Students must have at least a 55 average for the year in the course that they wish to take in Summer School. Science labs must be completed for Regents credit before registration.
  • Students are required to attend class on time daily. Absence for special events (for example, previously scheduled vacations, sporting events, camps, court appearances, etc) is not excusable. The absences will count as regular absences. Students who miss 4 days of summer school WILL NOT receive course credit in that subject area.
  • Students are required to leave a deposit in the Guidance Office (with their registration form) of $100.00 made payable to the Berlin Central School District. Students will receive the deposit back at the end of course completion.  The check will only be deposited if the student fails to complete summer school due to absences/behavior.
  • Smoking, possession of weapons, illegal drugs or alcoholic beverages, violence or any disruptive behavior will not be permitted at any time. Offenders and/or any student who creates a major class disturbance will be dropped from the Summer School program and the deposit will not be refunded.
  • Students should bring a snack or lunch.
  • Students will be transported to Troy for classes by the Berlin Central School District.  Students will be picked up at the Stephentown, Cherry Plain, Berlin and Grafton schools and returned to their pick up point at a time that will be posted in the final summer school letter.
  • Students who will be required to attend Summer School for courses other than the above course will be required to pay tuition to Troy City School District.  Berlin Central School District will transport your student to and from the pick up points mentioned above for no cost.

If you anticipate your child your child will participate in this Summer School program, please call the Guidance Office no later than Friday, June 27, 2008 at (518) 658-2515, Ext. 206.

Sincerely,
