This half year course will focus on the current events of the day. We will look at people and issues as they make the headlines and news reports. We will examine as to why they are notable and how events affect each one of us. We will use the newspapers, magazine articles, television news, and current events filmstrips, looking at them to learn as much as we can and trying to relate it to our lives. We will have weekly worksheets and quizzes. There will be projects as well as a final exam at the end of the course. Each year is different, as current events are constantly changing, as are the people making the headlines. |
