Berlin Elementary School’s

Parent Teacher Organization

What is the PTO?

The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) organizes volunteers to assist with activities in school. It sponsors fund-raising efforts, runs after school enrichment programs, organizes community events, creates a school yearbook, and continually looks for ways to improve the overall education of students.

How do I become a member?

If you are reading this, you already are! Any parent/guardian of a Berlin Elementary School (BES) student is considered a member of the PTO. There is no membership fee, no registration and no minimum requirements. All parents/guardians are welcome and encouraged to attend meetings to lend their support and share their ideas.

When does the PTO meet?

The PTO usually meets on the third Monday of every month at BES. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. and last approximately one hour. Babysitting services are provided at every meeting with no charge to the parents.

Why should I go to PTO meetings?

There are many reasons to get involved with your PTO. Most importantly, meetings help bridge the gap between home and school by providing a forum that enriches communication. BES’s principal and team leaders attend every meeting. By supporting your PTO, it also shows your child how important you think their education and school is. Together, we can facilitate change for the future and keep up with the educational needs of our children.

How does my child(ren) benefit from PTO?

Every BES student benefits from the dedication of our PTO. The money the PTO helps raise offsets the price of field trips, pays for outside educators to come to the school, buys supplies for the classrooms and much, much more.

In addition to all the events we sponsor monetarily, the PTO is very active in helping academically. We provide after school enrichment programs, assist in reading programs, create the school yearbook and host community events

Email  the BES PTO if you would like to volunteer.
