WELCOME TO
Berlin Elementary School is comprised of approximately 280 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. We are the largest of the three elementary schools in the Berlin Central School District, due to the fact that all students attend fourth and fifth grade at our school.
We house a Questar III Pre-school class in our building, and this year our class sizes range from 16-23 students. We are the Title I school fir the District, and we offer inclusion, (CSE) and AIS instruction at each grade level.
Berlin Elementary School offers a standards-based curriculum, enhanced with weekly classes in ARt, Music, and Physical Education. In addition, our students participate in curriculum related activities at both our Library and Computer Lab each week.
All students in grades K-5 are invited to participate in our "After School Enrichment Program" that is offered in both the fall and the spring. This activity-based program is in its second year of implementation, and is offered at no cost to our families. In addition, students in grades four and five are encouraged to participate in our instrumental music program, our school's chorus, and in our intramural basketball program.
We are very fortunate to have an energetic and supportive Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at Berlin Elementary School. The PTO provides information, communication, and through its fund-raising efforts, financial support for school activities and cultural arts programs. Each family is encouraged to join and support this organization. The PTO meetings are listed on the monthly school calendar, and notices are sent home before all meetings. Parents and teachers are encouraged to participate in these meetings so that decisions can be made which best reflect the wishes of the entire PTO membership.
It is our mission to educate all students to be life-long learners, capable decision-makers, and contributors to their community, while fostering respect for everyone. Character Education is at the heart of our instruction. Together, we will provide an enriching curriculum and challenging learning environment to our entire school population.
I am honored to say that I am the Principal of Berlin Elementary School, and I am fortunate to have a strong, competent, committed and enthusiastic team of teachers, support staff, parents, and community members who work with me each and everyday to provide a high quality educational program to all of our students!
